At last ,the Proverbial Man on the Horseback.

I have always been a pessimist - even a  non believer almost in  existence of Role Models.

I expressed it ,both in thought and action , quite often,very explicitly in my career. 

I never had great admiration for any of my seniors in the organisations I served ( no wonder that they were PSu s,but the only Private sector organisation I worked for, it was an anti climax worser - there were no Ratan Tatas , Narayana Murthy s , Nandan Nilekanis nor even Rakesh Jhunjhunwala s- only a typical Kachchi Bhai).

I recollect the friendly sparring I had with one of our most quick witted Chairman cum MD s ,( even though I was a Scale III officer and  he was scale VIII and the Boss ,De facto and D jure -Hailed from same town as the Father of Aadhar  - Honble Nilekani).

He asked after visiting a foreign country where I was previously posted "Hey ,you didn't accept Mr X as a leader, though he was projecting himself as one".

I said " He didn't deserve it ".

He:" Have you accepted anybody as a Leader at all ?"

Me:" No, Sir , I am still in search".

He" Even with me around ?" - a twinkle in his eyes.

Me:" Yes Sir, My search still continues" 

Good natured ,he laughed off  with mirth.

Whilst one could certainly, look up to PM Modi, the fact is I am quite far from him. He is an Hero by any count and a brilliant leader no doubt.

But to me it is all virtual reality.

I was waiting - till today. 

I saw him in flesh and blood.

Almost six feet, agile, broad shoulders, clad in Minister white dhoty and white full sleeves.

Well, may be many IPS folks will sync with these physical attributes. Am sure because,

I have had the  opportunity of dealing with many IPS folks one on one. 

Many IGs ,DGPs, Commissioners, both in service and out of it. Many IPS turning out as Governors or MLA s.

Even the one who was part of the CBI team ,led by Mr Karthikeyan which cracked Rajiv Gandhi assassination.

But this individual beats me.

I heard him live today at the launch of book " Dravidian Maya".

Flabbergasted,to say the least.

Eloquent Tamil , flowing like a perennial stream. No flowery epithets, hollow metaphors , rhythms and rhymes. Just plain ,to the point content.

He had sharp stats to drive home that the home District of the former DMK CM has the dubious distinction of having the highest no of crimes of Untouchability in entire state, almost 1/4 th of total.

Demolishing the egalitarian myth of the Dravidian Polemics.

But what, swept me was his presentation of the Dravidian Political Model practised for last 5 decades plus.

He brings in the analogy of the layering as in a large onion.

First Outer Layer- Intellectual  Hype -Bogus ofcourse.

They create Aryan Dravidian, Anti Brahmin and Hindu Rationalist Narrative, supported by decades old Justice Party cascading. Add Linguistic Paranoia to whip up emotional bonding.

You peel this.

Next  is the " Attack and Abuse" layer. Through which, anybody countering the Dravidian Stock fiction,will be abused based on caste, relegion, Mother tongue,so on.( Remember ,names for Kamaraj, Rajaji, Bhakthavathsalam etc , why they didn't spare even reverred Krupaananda Variyar Swamigal )

 You peel on to next inner layer.

" The Chieftain Clan layer" .

Created carefully in every major segment of the state- Satraps and their families . Nehru's, Durai Murugans , Periya Sami s, Ponmudis, for illustration.

These Local Gang leaders will be taken Full care of , ensuring their sworn loyalty to Party Boss.

And  the final innermost Layer- the Gopalapuram mafia heads.

Totally sealed off from any attack  leading to perpetual enrichment of the First Family.

He went on to describe how in the age on controlled Print and Visual media ,this onion ecosystem was perpetuated. And how it is now falling apart due to better awareness of public courtesy Social media.

He is sure that by 2024 this onion will rot and by 2026 will fall off.

 Once, when his name was mentioned as possible CM candidate for the party floated by the Pied Piper of Poes Garden, I ,like many were sceptical, ad we thought only Kabalis and Annathe imagery can ween the gullible Tamil voter away fro the two parties of same genre ruining TN .

But now I thank God that the Actor kept way ,for whatever reason.

This great man would have been eclipsed by the First Day First Show milk abhisekam  hooligans .

Now he stands tall.

Among intellectuals.

Among Masses.

Among Journos

Among Analysts 

My search is over.

This is whom I was looking for.

I have no bones in saying this.

He is going to change the future of TN and potentially this nation.
